[Pharmacological action]
Pharmacodynamics Tylosin tartrate is a macrolide antibacterial agent that has a strong effect on mycoplasma and is effective against Gram-positive bacteria and some negative bacteria. Sensitive bacteria include Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Corynebacterium pyogenes.
Pharmacokinetics Intramuscular injections are rapidly absorbed. After absorption, tylosin is widely distributed in the body like erythromycin. The concentration of organs administered by injection is 2 to 3 times higher than that of oral administration, but it is not easy to penetrate into cerebrospinal fluid. The apparent volume of distribution of dogs and cattle was 1.7 L/kg and 1.1 L/kg, respectively. The concentration of tylosin into the milk is about 20% of the serum concentration. Tylosin is excreted in urine and bile in its original form. The elimination half-life of this product is 0.9 hours for dogs and 0.95 to 2.3 hours for yaks.
[Drug interactions] (1) It is the same as other macrolides and lincosamides, and should not be used at the same time. (2) It is antagonistic in combination with β-lactam.
(3) It has the function of inhibiting the cytochrome oxidase system, and may inhibit its metabolism when combined with certain drugs.
[Action and use] Macrolide antibiotics. It is mainly used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by mycoplasma and sensitive Gram-positive bacteria.
